R

egarding its origins, the band IN MEMORIAM, later called REMEMBRANCES (now RAINOVER), was born in Murcia, in October 2003, when Antonio López (guitar) and Haydée Mariñoso (vocals) joined forces to create a gothic metal band.

Arturo Hernández (keyboards) contacts Haydée and Antonio, and decides to join and form the band with them, looking for musicians to work on the songs, music and melodies that these 3 founding members are composing (both together and separately). Later, Fran, the new drummer, joins the band, but only for a short time.

In 2004, after Fran’s departure from the band, Juan Daniel joins the band as the new drummer. The band, then called IN MEMORIAM, opens a basic website and records a FIRST DEMO never published of 5 songs (‘Crystal Tears’, ‘Scars of my soul’, ‘Anguish’, “Wish” and ‘See the grief’) in the recording studio FOCUS (San José de la Vega, Murcia), owned by Jesús Segado.

Later, in 2005, the band gets a stable line-up after the incorporation of Joaquín Martínez (bass) and Quini Pelegrín (drums), thus starting to prepare more songs for the first album.

REMEMBRANCES

B

Between March and October 2006, under the new name of REMEMBRANCES, the band records their FIRST ALBUM ‘CRYSTAL TEARS’ in Tatxin Studios (Totana, Murcia), produced by Raúl Manrique de Lara, which contains 11 songs (5 of those songs belong to the previous demo), mostly composed by keyboardist Arturo Hernández, and which is finally released in 2008.

Since then, the band has played a long list of concerts all over Spain, sharing the stage with international bands like Kells, To-Mera, Regardless of Me, etc. and national bands like Ebony Ark, Blood, Code Name, Enuma Elish, Niobeth…

They also took part in numerous music contests, winning several prizes, such as third place in the ‘Stage Mediatic’ contest, which allowed them to perform in the prestigious MEDIATIC FESTIVAL 2008 (together with bands like The Waterboys, Fangoria, Los Suaves, Loquillo, Saratoga, Savia, Porretas…), and also participated in the selection as semi-finalists, that same year, in the international contest ‘Villa de Bilbao 2008’.

At the same time, they present their first works in several media such as Punto Radio, Onda Regional de Murcia, Canal 7 Región de Murcia, Opinión TV…

n the end of 2008, Joaquín (bassist) leaves Remembrances and Antonio Perea, bassist and singer of the doom metal band Eternal Cry, takes his place, also bringing male vocals to the band.

In 2009, one of the biggest successes of the tour comes when, after receiving more than 31.000 votes via internet for their song “Espejismo” (music by Arturo Hernández and lyrics by Haydée Mariñoso), the band is selected as semi-finalist to represent Spain in the EUROVISION FESTIVAL 2009, participating in the performances broadcasted in the programme “Eurovision 2009: el retorno”, of Televisión Española (TVE), and making other appearances in press, radio and television.

That same year, 2009, Remembrances receive an offer by the management agency Alkemist-Fanatix Europe (Italy) for the distribution of their debut album “Crystal Tears” all around Europe, which finally leads, in 2010, to an offer by Carlo Bellotti, director of the agency, to become one of the signed bands of Alkemist-Fanatix Europe and get their second album produced and recorded at MathLab Studio, Italy.

RAINOVER

I

n April 2011, after two years composing new songs and recording a new demo of 15 songs for a second album (most of them composed by keyboardist Arturo Hernández), the members decide to say goodbye to singer Haydée Mariñoso, but, for legal reasons, they have to change the name of the band, keeping the same line-up, the musical direction, the work done during their period as REMEMBRANCES, and the 11 new songs, already finished, pre-produced, recorded by the 4 remaining members of the band, and selected from the demo, which will be part of this second album.

This is how the songs from Remembrances, UNANIMOUSLY, become part of Rainover’s repertoire.

After an intense and quick search, in May 2011, Andrea Casanova is selected to join the band as the new vocalist. Andrea re-records the demo of 11 songs recorded by Haydée.

Already with a new singer, but still without a name, the band heads to Prato, Italy, in August 2011 for the recordings of their SECOND ALBUM ‘TRANSCENDING THE BLUE AND DRIFTING INTO REBIRTH’, at MathLab Recording Studios, under the production of Carlo Bellotti, director of Alkemist-Fanatix Europe, and with Jonathan Mazzeo as sound engineer. In December 2011 the band officially changes its name and starts to operate as RAINOVER. In 2013 Andrea Casanova is included, in solidarity, in the recording of the songs of this album, having composed some lyrics and melodies before recording it.

The new album consists of 11 songs and is mastered by Dennis Koehne and Waldemar Sorychta at Flying Pigs Studio in Germany. The booklet is written by Mario Sanchez Nevado (Aégis Illustration).

The album ‘Transcending the blue and drifting into rebirth’ is finally released and distributed in 2014 throughout Europe, USA and Japan by the label Aural Music.

Remembrances: Antonio Perea, Joaquín Pelegrín,

After touring in their home country, Spain (WOA Metal Battle Spain 2016, among other festivals), and abroad (Dames of Darkness Festival, Bilston, England, among others), and getting a warm welcome from press and listeners, the band starts to prepare 14 songs, (7 of which are based on basic musical compositions by Arturo Hernández) of which 11 will be part of their THIRD ALBUM ‘NOX’. It is then when its members say goodbye to their guitarist Antonio López.

A

fter a long search, Antonio Garcia is selected to join the band as the new guitarist, giving it the gothic metal sound the band was looking for. The new album ‘NOX’ is ready to be recorded.

‘NOX’ is produced and recorded at Mathlab Recording Studio (Italy), mastered by Dennis Koehne (Germany), and features special guest singer Anders Jacobsson, vocalist of the Swedish band Draconian, on the track ‘Lumina Omnia’. The booklet is again designed by Mario Sánchez Nevado (Aégis Illustration).

Rainover is ready to present their most complex and darkest work to date, ‘NOX’. Throughout its 11 songs, ‘NOX’ is conceived as a kind of premonition of an era of darkness that will come to Earth as a result of human greed and alienation from nature.

As for the authorship of the songs on all the albums, the band decides to share it equally among all its members to remove worries, although most of them are based on original ideas composed (in many cases in their entirety) and previously recorded by keyboardist Arturo Hernández.

The songs originally composed by Arturo Hernández are very numerous. Among them are: Silent night, Blood on the wall, See the grief, Sweet madness, Scars of my soul, Memories, Lagoon, Espejismo, Rebirth, Oh my Cross!, An ocean between us, Dust and dawn, H2SO4, A constant tide, False saturn devours, The shadowmen, Her last flight, E-motionless, without counting the demo songs, and those performed in rehearsals and concerts, which were never released.

Arturo Hernández’s actual authorship of many of the aforementioned songs is demonstrated and acknowledged by all the members of the band in the publication of the album booklets (see MULTIMEDIA section).

Third album: ‘Nox’.

Rainover (‘Nox’).

In 2019, Antonio Garcia leaves the band, and after Rafael Lucas joined the band for a brief time, Alejandro Yuste joins the band as the new guitarist. Rainover present “NOX” in 2023, playing in festivals like Rock Imperium in Cartagena.

2024

RAINOVER, NEW ERA

I

n October 2023, Arturo Hernández, founder and composer of most of the songs performed by the band since 2004, says goodbye to the other members due to personal and musical differences related to the conditions, management and organisation of the band, which no longer have anything to do with those under which he founded it. At the beginning of 2024 he decides to continue with the same project, looking for new members to complete a new line-up.

The members of this new line-up are:

Tatiana Martínez: Singer

Arturo Hernández: keyboardist

Sergio Pérez: guitarist

Rubén Asunción: drummer

Carlos Pulido: bassist.

The new line-up starts to prepare the FOURTH ALBUM ‘BETWEEN DREAM AND NIGHTMARE’ during 2024, and in February 2025 they enter PEPE MARSILLA’s studio, MIA STUDIO, to start recording.

At the end of March the recording is finished and the band starts working on the mixing at FINNVOX STUDIOS (Helsinki, Finland) with MIKKO KARMILA, producer and mixer of bands like Nightwish, Sentenced, Sonata Arctica, Amorphis, Waltari, Children of Bodom and Lordi.

In May, MIKA JUSSILA mastered the work. What can we say about this professional who has mixed thousands of mythical albums at FINNVOX STUDIOS.

The booklet is designed by José Luís Rey (PHLEGETON).

New line-up of Rainover : Carlos Pulido, Arturo Hernández, Tatiana Martínez, Rubén Asunción, Sergio Pérez.

The new album, ‘Between dream and nightmare’, composed and produced entirely by Arturo Hernández, is released on 15 July 2025, and consists of 10 songs based on 10 stories, referring to the paperback books of tales based on fantastic, suspense and gothic horror stories written by the most talented writers of the genre.

All the songs are intertwined through the idea of a dream that turns into a nightmare, and returns to its previous state after a learning curve. It is a lesson for each of its protagonists.

Full of touches on emotions, fears, traumas, and, in short, on all those psychological aspects that human beings go through at some point in their lives, they make this work the most complex and intimate, one that any listener can make their own.

With this work, Rainover bets on fast rhythms in the purest punk style, as well as on melodies accompanied by choirs and overwhelming guttural voices.

Rainover announces a tour called ‘Dream tour’, through which they will tour many venues in many Spanish cities from the end of 2025 and during 2026.

Fourth album : ‘Between dream and nightmare’.
